5month Old Baby Breathing Heavy

energetic punk

In 1976 the punk band Sex Pistols shocked the world with their song "Anarchy in th UK." This is not surprising, especially in the group sought to shock: the name of the group and its disks, its aggressive image and obviously the lyrics of their songs.

In the lyrics of this song is a phrase that is brilliantly outrageous.
not know what I want but I know how to get
In the energy debate continues to this maxim: Everyone knows how to get it .... but no one has raised that.

Some argue that we must build new nuclear power plants, others see a clear need to bet on renewable energy, others argue the use of coal ... but no one knows, let alone discuss what they want to achieve with this.

What should pursue the policy objectives energetic?

Once we are clear what our objectives ... we study what is the most appropriate way to get them. Until we clear what we want, the energy debate will be completely useless. Set objectives

seems a trivial matter. A priori, there always seems to clear which is the goal, which is something trivial, something evident in the not worth your time. But the more we analyze and think this issue is more complex. Recovery

question:
What should pursue objectives of energy policy?

When you try to answer this question, which seemed so clear and obvious is that it is not .... Can be many and very different objectives, make a short list with the first that come to mind.
Ensuring access to energy for all citizens.
  • Get a low energy prices for domestic consumers.
  • minimize environmental impact.
  • safeguard the financial interests of energy companies.
  • Create jobs.
  • improve the competitiveness of the industrial sector by reducing their energy costs.
  • Improve the purchasing power of citizens reducing their energy costs.
  • to reduce our foreign energy dependence.
  • ....
There is no objective but there are many different and what is worse ... can be addressed. So there you establish priorities. What should have more weight? Does the environment or the economy? Priority should the interests of consumers or the utilities? Does the creation of jobs or the price of energy?
The more the detail study the issue .... more complex. A low price of energy seems a good target ... but what should be the priority: Lower price electricity in the industrial sector to promote competitiveness and attract investment and lower the domestic price of electricity to increase the purchasing power of citizens and boost consumer spending?

Setting objectives is not a technical or scientific. We can not put together a couple of engineers, with a database, do some calculations and concluded that the purchasing power of citizens is above the protection of the environment.
This is a question and POLITICAL IDEOLOGICAL .
(hopefully know forgive me for saying a word as objectionable as old-fashioned)

And although surely overtake you, that is the occupation of politicians. For that we have chosen. For that have a huge and luxurious building where they can meet together and discuss with all amenities. For that each has his office and his advisors to study and analyze the issue. For that charge good money with their diets and supplements.

However, politicians do not seem to be very for the work to meet obligations. It is more ... mug with all the world say: "The energy debate must move away from technical and ideological prejudices." (Why the hell we pay then?)

Or put another way ... just be discussing how to get ... . but do not discuss what we want to achieve. In 1976 he was a scandal that a group of musicians claim to say this .... now openly political leaders, but has now, we have completely lost the ability to shock us.
